Plotnikov to Present on Drones at MassDOT’s Innovation and Mobility Exchange

Dr. Michael Plotnikov is currently working as a Research Associate in the UMass Transportation Center in Amherst. The focus of Dr. Plotnikov’s research is on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UASs) and their integration into the National Air Space.

On April 10, 2018 Plotnikov will present on “The state of the practice of UAS in state DOTs”. His presentation will discuss the results of a study conducted by a team of researchers at the University of Massachusetts Transportation Center on the current state of the practice of applications of small unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in State Departments of Transportation (DOTs). As a part of the study, a nationwide survey was conducted to identify and understand how State DOTs have considered and implemented UAS related policies, procedures, and applications in their day to day activities and operations.
