On Wednesday, February 6th 2019, Sara Graham and Jeff Dickey from Louisiana State University’s Highway Safety Research Group presented a webinar on commercial motor vehicle crash data quality entitled Contributing to Louisiana’s Green Reporting for our Innovative Initiatives series. It was a fascinating presentation on how the Highway Safety Research Group implemented LACRASH, a free software application, to assist law enforcement agencies to move from paper crash reporting to electronic crash reporting which in turn improved crash report timeliness, completeness and accuracy. They also described police training and technical assistance efforts to improve data completeness, as well as crash location validation methods to improve crash location accuracy.
