FHWA Emergency Relief Essentials

This course provides an overview of the Federal Highway Administration Emergency Relief Program authorized by Congress for the repair and reconstruction of Federal-aid highways which have suffered serious damage as a result of natural disasters or catastrophic failures from an external cause. Participants will be provided with a detailed explanation of applicable Policies and procedures, including changes to the program brought about under Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century (MAP-21) legislation. Upon completion of this course participants should possess an understanding of: Eligibility Criteria for FHWA ER Timing of events in the Application Process Documentation Requirements for reimbursement Roles and Responsibilities of local, state, and federal agencies
