MassDOT Research Problem Statement Solicitation Period - Closed
Over the last couple of months, MassDOT staff met in Amherst, Boston, Dartmouth, Lowell and Worcester with UMTC Affiliates and other interested transportation researchers from around the state to present their Research Road Show. They discussed the newly revised Research processes, and specifically the FY18 MassDOT Research Project Development Process, funding opportunities and ways to be involved in the process.

Please note the following schedule, and pay particular attention to the close date of June 23rd. Research statements must be submitted to the research section at MassDOT from a MassDOT or MBTA employee.

*Literature Review would be conducted upon request and/or to confirm whether research has already been conducted. (Note: Any MassDOT/MBTA employee can request a Literature Review at any time).
*Goal: To start research projects (NTP) by January 2018 and August 2018.
As researchers you are able to help develop research problem statements, contact technical subject experts within MassDOT and acquire funding to pursue research on topics of high priority within the Commonwealth Transportation system. We here at the UMTC can assist in connecting you with the appropriate MassDOT staff, in your field of expertise.
