Scaffold User Training - MTS New

Purpose: The purpose of the 4-hour Scaffold User course is to provide scaffold users with the regulations, safety guidelines and procedures, and skills needed to recognize the hazards of the use of frame, rolling towers, tube & clamp, and system scaffolding, and to understand the procedures to control or eliminate those hazards. Satisfactory achievement of the course objectives will assist in satisfying the OSHA's training requirements as defined in 29 CFR 1926.454.


Upon completion of the course, learners should be able to:

Specify the major elements of OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1926.454, Training Requirements for Scaffold Users.
Determine the following for Frame, Rolling Towers, Tube & Clamp, and System Scaffold:

  • How to Safely Access, Work On, and Exit From Scaffolds
  • Role and Responsibility of the Scaffold User and the Scaffold Competent Person
  • Basic Elements of a Safe Scaffold
  • Nature of Fall Hazards and the use of Fall Prevention and Fall Protection Equipment
  • Nature of Falling Object Hazards and the use of Falling Object Protection
  • Nature of Electrical Hazards the use of Electrical Hazard protection
  • Nature of Material Handling Hazards and proper Material Handling
  • Nature of Overloading Hazards and the maximum intended Load Carrying Capacities
  • Prohibited User Actions

The course is presented in English. There is a written knowledge check for each unit, and a 30 question course knowledge check at the end of the program.
