Members of the UMTC Research Affiliate network have opportunities to:

  • Network with other researchers exploring similar transportation topics and challenges,
  • Become more familiar with MassDOT and MBTA research priorities,
  • Learn more about research funding opportunities and the MassDOT and MBTA research project solicitation process,
  • Share and present their research through the UMTC network, and at state and regional conferences, and
  • Receive additional research solicitation opportunities through larger national research networks.

For out-of-state researchers, the UMTC network can serve as a way to introduce them and their work to those in Massachusetts who may be looking for their expertise and partnership on new projects.
