Manager of Research and Development

Melissa Paciulli is the Manager of Research and Development at the UMTC. In this role she is responsible for the research activities of the UMTC and facilitating communication and coordination between researchers and other agencies and organizations. She is responsible for the content and distribution of the UMTC Innovative Outlook, which is our newest initiative. This is a bi-weekly email blast that includes original posts from our UMTC Research Blog, recent transportation articles and news and original research abstracts from our Affiliate Network.  Additional outreach activities include facilitating and coordination of multidisciplinary and cross state “Research Roundtables” and developing our Research Affiliate Network. Melissa has a B.A. from Westfield State University in Economics and a MSCE in Transportation Engineering from UMass. She is currently a PhD Candidate in Transportation Engineering, researching teen driver training enhancements for learning disabilities and is pursuing a Higher Education Administration concentration from the School of Education. She actively serves on the Transportation Research Board, Transportation and Economic Development Committee as the Committee Research Coordinator and is the founding President of the Women in Transportation (WTS) Boston/UMass Student Chapter.
