MassDOT Announces Innovation Conference Municipal Award

The MassDOT Transportation Innovation Conference provides an important opportunity for transportation practitioners to share knowledge, sponsor peer-to-peer learning, and collaborate on issues of mutual interest on an annual basis.  MassDOT is again seeking nominations for its Municipal Innovation Award.  This year nominations should focus on safe and equitable transportation.

Any municipality interested in being considered for an award for work external to MassDOT can submit the nomination form found in the link below. Awards will again be judged on the following criteria:?

• Submittals should be no longer than 250 words, and should clearly convey the innovative work  performed by the city or town.  It should be clear which municipal officials are took the lead on the innovation, but submittals can also include any consultant teams involved in the innovation.

• The submittal should detail which problem in the area of safe and equitable transportation the innovation solved.  The submittal should detail what the challenges were for the municipality and how the innovative practice/project solved the challenges.

• A major emphasis for the selection committee will be the ability to replicate the innovation for other cities and towns. The submittal should make this clear, and whether the practice/project solution was shared with other cities and towns. 

The abstract submission/award deadline is March 18, 2024 by 5:00 PM
