Research by UMass Researchers Cited in United States Government Accountability Office Report to Congress on Driver Assistance Technologies

The US Government Accountability Office (GAO) recently released a report to Congress recommendingApoorva Hungund significant steps that the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) should take to enhance the safety outcomes of Driver Assistance Technologies. 
 
The GAO report cited a 2022 MassDOT Research report Impact of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) on Road Safety and Implications for Education, Licensing, Registration, and Enforcement. Principle investigator for the MassDOT report was Dr. Anuj K. Pradhan, Assistant Professor, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering with co-author Apoorva Hungund, Ph.D. student, Industrial Engineering & Operations Research.
 
In addition, the GAO report cited research by Apoorva P.
