FHWA-NHI-132013 Geosynthetics Engineering

This course (1-day) provides training on construction with geosynthetics in transportation applications. The course examines the use of geotextiles, geogrids, pavement edge drains, drainage composites, erosion control materials and sediment control materials. Construction of filtration, drainage, temporary and permanent erosion control, sediment control, roadway separation, roadway reinforcement, roadway subgrade improvement, pavement overlays, embankments over soft foundations, mechanically stabilized earth walls, and mechanically stabilized earth slope applications are reviewed. This 1-day construction summary course provides an introduction to geosynthetic installations. Maximum class size is 30
