Chainsaw Storm Debris Cleanup

Course Description

This class teaches students how to deal with trees that have fallen due to bad weather or other reasons. Topics covered include:

• Pressures and binds

• Rolls Spring poles

• Hangers and leaners

• Pulls and Splits

This class is all hands-on after a 1.5 hour classroom instruction. Students will work in groups to accomplish specific tasks. All students will operate a chainsaw. Class is held rain or shine so plan accordingly. Class size is limited to 15 participants.

Who Should Attend

Anyone who uses a chainsaw in their daily/occasional work to maintain property, do storm damage cleanup, right-of-way clearing, fire-rescue, etc. can benefit from these workshops.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Individuals MUST successfully complete the Chainsaw Skills & Safety 2 - Day Course PRIOR to taking the Chainsaw Storm Debris Cleanup Class.

What To Bring

• Required equipment for the workshops:

• Hard Hat with Face Shield

• Safety Glasses 

• Hearing Protection-Muffs or Plugs Gloves

• Long Pants and Chainsaw Chaps

• Heavy Leather Boots

• Fuel Mix and Bar Oil

• Saw Chain Files and Bar Wrenches for Saws

• Rain Gear

• Chainsaws should be brought for hands-on exercises
