Overview

Course Description

NOTE:
Attendees of this class would benefit from having completed Maintaining Your Roadways with Pavement Preservation – Part 1 OR previously attended the in-person or blended learning Pavement Preservation course offered by UMTC/Baystate Roads.  This course will build on the concepts discussed in Part 1 and/or the prior courses.

Pavement Preservation treatments allow road managers to keep roads in good condition, extending their service life and reducing costly and disruptive repairs and rehabilitation. With shrinking municipal budgets, the need to protect assets and prevent large expenditures is critical.

This course will cover the following topics:

• A brief review of Part 1 of this course (introductory pavement preservation topics)
• The economics of pavement preservation
• Pavement preservation research and resources
• Implementing a preservation strategy

Target Audience

This workshop is created for municipal officials involved in the planning and selection of pavement preservation treatments.  Suggested participants include Public Works Directors, Highway Superintendents, and City/Town Engineers.

ATTENTION: After registering you will receive an email containing a link to pre-register with Zoom for the virtual class.
