Overview

Course Description:

This class covers the fundamentals of roadway design, road building materials, compaction, drainage, and erosion control. Upon completion of the class, students will have a better understanding of the impact of project inspection, materials selection, and importance of proper drainage and compaction on project performance. The class covers both paved and unpaved roads. Participants will have ample opportunity to interact with the instructor as well as others.

Target Audience:

Municipal officials, field workers, and anyone involved in road maintenance and construction projects.

    Paul Brown is the owner and president of Roadteck Inc., a training and consulting company focused on highway related issues. Paul has over 40 years in the road and winter maintenance industry. Paul comes most recently from Massachusetts DOT; He has extensive knowledge of Road Maintenance and Road Management Techniques having spent almost 40 years in construction and has shared his knowledge across the country by working with Municipal and State agencies as a consultant. He has served on many national committees and peer exchanges to assist the industry to improve methods and techniques.
