Overview

Course Description:

This hands-on course is intended to educate attendees to be better aware of what it takes to maintain heavy equipment. You'll learn about what to look for to prevent potential problems and how to better communicate potential problems or required service to the mechanic, as well as how to keep proper records for services that were performed.

After this course, you should be able to:

Perform the steps needed to properly maintain your backhoe.
Maintain a complete service record for your backhoe.


Target Audience:

Anyone who operates or intends to operate heavy equipment or is looking to get some basic knowledge on maintaining equipment.

    Having spent most of his life in, on and around cars, trucks and equipment, David has had the privilege of working with some very knowledgeable tradesmen. Through this experience, David has gained an extensive amount of knowledge covering many different aspects of cars, trucks and equipment.

    David has gone from owning his own repair shop to overseeing a 100 + municipal fleet and then on to the position of Highway Superintendent. Currently, he is Head of Operations for the Town of Sudbury where he oversees a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment, as well as manages the day-to-day operations of the Department.

    David lives on a tree farm in Sterling, MA where he finds operating a sawmill to be relaxing and therapeutic.
