David Price, is a UMass Amherst course instructor and the Vice President and Co-Founder of the Association of Professional Drone Pilots.
Drone operation is both a hot topic and fast growing area of professionalization, both locally and nation-wide. With an immense number of industry applications – including: engineering, construction, emergency response, transportation, travel, real estate, and sports - the potential for professional applications are broad. But there is a learning curve, and not only in the area of hands-on experience. Any commercial drone operation is regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration, just like the piloting of private and commercial aircraft. Join us during your lunch break, and learn about the top 10 things you need to know about flying one.

Instructors

David Price, is a UMass Amherst course instructor and the Vice President and Co-Founder of the Association of Professional Drone Pilots. He is also the Pilot in Charge at Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., a civil engineering firm, where he is responsible for all drone operations and development of safety protocols. David was the Dean of Aviation at Bridgewater State University and has more than 25 years in aviation academia. He was recognized as the Federal Aviation Administration’s Teacher of the Year in 2006, and earned his professional MBA from Daniel Webster College (NH) with a concentration in aviation business.
