Overview

Course Description

Pavement Preservation treatments allow road managers to keep roads in good condition, extending their service life and reducing costly and disruptive repairs and rehabilitation. With shrinking municipal budgets, the need to protect assets and prevent large expenditures is critical.

Part 1 of this two-part series will be an approximately 2-hour live Zoom session covering the following topics:

• An introduction to the concept of pavement preservation
• Common pavement distresses and their causes
• Pavement preservation treatment options currently used in the region
• Treatment selection and preparation

Part 1 of this series is designed to be taken prior to Maintaining Your Roadways with Pavement Preservation – Part 2. Part 2 will build upon the concepts discussed in Part 1 to help agencies implement a pavement preservation program.

Target Audience

This workshop is created for municipal officials involved in the planning and selection of pavement preservation treatments.  Suggested participants include Public Works Directors, Highway Superintendents, and City/Town Engineers.
