All OSHA 10 Hour Construction Training is intended to cover an overview of the hazards a worker may encounter on a job site. Training emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention, not OSHA standards.

Instructors
  • Kevin Scarborough
Highway Superintendent at Town of Deerfield

Currently working as the Superintendent for a public works department, Kevin has been in the construction field for over 40 years. He started as an explosives laborer and as he gained education and field experience, became the Support Services Manager at the Explosives company.  He furthered his education to become an OSHA authorized instructor.

Since 2006, Kevin has been providing 29CFR 1926 Authorized OSHA 10hr and 30hr construction classes. Other safety programs include 49CFR Dot Hazmat training, Driver programs, and DOT compliance audits.

In addition, he can provide 30CFR MSHA New Miner, Annual Refresher Training, safety audits, Explosives Compliance storage inspections, and inventory control. He has also worked with ATF for K9 training.
He recently retired as a Captain from his town’s fire department after 38 years and as a Dive Rescue Assistant Team leader for a local dive team, after 20 years. His hobby that he shares with his wife is to provide the pyrotechnics for the aerial aerobatics at military air shows around the country. They both are Guinness Book holders for the World’s longest “Wall of Fire” at 3.09 miles long.

Kevin likes to say that he may teach, but rather prefers to share experiences that have direct impact on work-site safety. His goal is to make you think before you act!
