Course Description:
Cities and towns invest significant tax dollars into their infrastructure, yet many roads remain in poor condition. This is often due to roads not being built to handle modern traffic loads and volumes, combined with insufficient maintenance, leading to deterioration of both the riding surface and the base.

There are key elements that define a quality road, whether it’s asphalt or gravel, in urban or rural areas. Many roads could greatly benefit from a simple condition assessment and the application of fundamental design, construction, and maintenance principles. This workshop will provide attendees with an understanding of the processes behind the construction and maintenance of a road, and how they can apply these principles within their own communities.

Target Audience:
All personnel responsible for the efficient and effective management, rehabilitation, and maintenance of roadways should attend this workshop.
