road being paved with asphalt

Description:

This workshop will introduce participants to asphalt pavement construction best practices, from the importance of project responsibilities to the most vital elements of laydown operations and compaction. Participants learn construction management responsibilities, recognize proper construction practices, identify construction issues and their sources, determine the impact of construction issues on performance, and select communication strategies for contractors, consultants, and superiors. This knowledge can then be applied to maximize the quality of your construction projects.

Learning Objective:

Understand how using proper construction practices can be used to place the asphalt material to get a durable, uniform, dense and smooth pavement that will require less maintenance during its service life.

Target Audience:

Anyone involved in the placement of asphalt pavements from Highway Superintendents, Road Foreman, Crew Leaders, Directors of Public Works, Town Engineers and Municipal Officials.
