Manager of Center Development

Karen has a long history working in the public sector, beginning as a photographer for the State DPW in the 1980's.  She began her work at the UMTC as a graduate assistant in 1993 (while earning her Masters in Regional Planning) and was co-author of the first State bicycle manual, Building Better Bicycling. She continued at the Center, as a long-time Training Coordinator, while earning another MEd. in Instructional Design.  She was Manager of Training & Outreach for three years before becoming the Manager of Center Development.  Karen works on a variety of Center-wide projects and tasks, including:  assessing training impacts, forming connections and growth opportunities within and between Center components, developing training videos, webinars, and other methods to promote a variety of audience learning formats and opportunities, and identifying strategic approaches for Center promotion and development.  

In her spare time, Karen enjoys gardening, cooking, and planning her next adventure.
