Best Practices for Advancing Safety through Partnerships with Universities

November 9-10, 2016
Hotel Northampton, Northampton, MA

Please join us, and learn about the prevention of crashes involving large trucks and buses utilizing state partnerships with universities!

There are a variety of ways in which Universities can support the work of law enforcement and drivers licensing agencies.  During this Summit, these groups will be sharing best practices, practical know how, and funding strategies.

The University of Massachusetts Traffic Safety Research Program (UMassSafe) has worked closely with the Massachusetts State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section (MSP CVES) and Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) on a number of projects to prevent crashes involving large trucks and buses.  We are now working with other states to form and/or expand such partnerships between law enforcement, licensing agencies and universities as well as share best practices.

Attendees from the FMCSA Eastern Service Area include:

·       State law enforcement

·       Drivers Licensing Agencies

·       Universities

·       FMCSA State Offices

Registration is free, light breakfast and lunch provided and grant funds are available to assist with costs for travel/lodging for representatives of law enforcement, state drivers licensing agencies, universities and speakers (limited availability).
